YERBA MATE

the mate is an infusion, similar to the tea, has an ancient origin, was introduced tho the world by the Guaranies indian(Aborigins)of southamerica, and today it consumes principally, in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and in a litle part of the south of Brazil. A strong setting in character rioplatence this beverage has generated the most diverses sociological and culturals interpretations.The same that the british five o clock tea, the mate shares drinks in group, in the family, whith friends or at the work. The round of the mate as it is denominated the moment during it beverage drinks, without doubts, generates a social peculiar fact. the most adepts, describes this tradiction like a ritual of friendship. Always uses only one mate and bombilla(Argentinism-and small tube for drinking mate)for all. The sebador(Argentinism-Who prepares the mate), heat the pava (Argentinism-a large furnare bellow)or has a thermic bottle and is who invited the beverage. The mate is prepared with dryed leafs of the herb called (hilex paraguarensis). Usually called yerba mate, its name cames from the aborigen tongue(quilhua mati)that reffers to the pumpkin(legenaria vulgaris), tradicionally used like recipient for drinking the infution.
